OVER

Released in March of 2020, eight moths after her debut single ‘Fool For Loving You’, Sabah continues to evoke nostalgia with her second single ‘Over’.

Delving into the depths of retro soul and r&b, Over is heavily inspired by the 80’s and early 1990s through the incorporation of smooth jazz influences showcased by live saxophone played by London based musician and producer Solaariss.

Written in the form of a conversation, the song gives us an insight into the aftermath of a relationship where both are reminiscing on their time together and contemplating if there was anything more that could have been done to save their relationship.

MUSIC VIDEO

Originally, the plan for the music video was that it would be set at a sleepover with Sabah having a girls-night-in with her close friends to cheer her up, emulating the popular scene we all know and love from feel good films such as ‘Grease’, ‘13 going on 30’ and ‘The Cheetah Girls’.

However due to the pandemic, lockdown happened the week of shooting so the major change in plans lead to the making of a home-made music video instead which was unexpected yet still gave the nostalgic feeling that was intended for the video.
